Chamroeun Mau is a home-based missionary who travels to his native Southeast Asia various times a year.


“Mau,” as he refers to himself, is a survivor of the “Killing Fields”—the brutal 4-year reign of terror that the Khmer Rouge imposed on their country in the late 1970s when he was a teenager. Although he was hung by soldiers that were not much older than him, he miraculously survived. He escaped to a neighboring country where he came to the Lord.


After immigrating to the US, he was challenged in the late 1990s by another Southeast Asian expatriate to return to his country and share the Good News. Recognizing God’s call in this, Mau has been working back and forth ever since.

Working with village churches that he has seen established, he mentors developing leaders often by phone. He also generates needed resources for both the believers and the local poor—including event-based humanitarian aid, water wells, evangelism, and church planting training.
